9 December 2017 - On Thursday, December 7, the USAID SHIFT team partnered with the Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) to host a webinar on the online C03 dashboard. The project developed this vital resource to make local authorities’ reported HIV data more transparent and accessible. In doing so, USAID SHIFT and VAAC found that the quality of provincial data submitted to the C03 system varied widely. To address this, Thursday’s webinar was the first step in a joint VAAC-USAID SHIFT intervention to train and coach Provincial AIDS Centers (PACs) to analyze and improve the quality of their C03 data. Accurate, timely, and complete data are essential to track and improve the country’s HIV response. By working hand-in-hand with VAAC and its C03 system, USAID SHIFT is helping strengthen the existing HIV monitoring system in a sustainable manner. In addition, using the webinar format provided a highly efficient means to reach multiple provinces without interrupting their local duties or accruing travel costs. Webinar participants are completing a follow-up assignment to rectify data gaps and errors. The session and related materials will be posted VAAC’s website for HIV stakeholders to continue utilizing as needed.
