08/03/2019 - US Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink and Vietnam’s Minister of Health led a national celebration of the country’s first HIV patients to receive treatment medicines through social health insurance (SHI). The event was hosted from Nam Tu Liem District Health Center in Hanoi, where the USAID SHIFT program has helped see that more than 90% of HIV patients have valid SHI cards. So What? SHI-covered drugs will ensure that HIV patients in Vietnam can stay on treatment while USAID and PEPFAR reallocate resources.
